We are proud to offer dental services for special needs patients. It is important to us that each and every patient feels comfortable coming to the dentist.
The most common anesthetic we use is a local anesthetic. This blocks pain in a specific area of the mouth. We often apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area before we give the injection.

My children have had cleanings and treatment at Star Pediatric Dentistry. Each visit has been pleasant and easy. My daughter had had teach pulled and remembers those visits as "FUN"!! She mostly talks about her prize! My little guy recently had cavities filled and it went way smoother than I thought it would. Dr. Verma was calming and comforting, the assistant was making my son laugh, and the girls at the front desk were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend any parent to take their children here. Everyone is awesome and the office looks super cool for kids too!
Friendly staff from check in to check out and most of all the hygienists and dentist with my little ones. Made them feel so comfortable and not scared at all! Definitely recommend!!
They were so good to my four year old daughter. The dentist that took care of my child was caring, compassionate (as she was in a lot of pain), and everyone in the clinic was so kind. I can’t thank you all enough.
My son has special needs (autistic) and at 8 years old has still never had a successful dental cleaning. That all changed today when we took him to Star Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Donohue and Ashley are AMAZING people . The staff was so patient and understanding of what he was comfortable with that he was willing to sit for a 45 minute cleaning, in 10 second increments. His teeth went from zero to hero in those 45 minutes. Despite not being able to truly verbally communicate, they were both able to set expectations, build trust with him, and respect his boundaries. (He was still wearing the blue exam gloves they gave him when we got home!)
As a parent, I am blown away by the professionalism, capability and compassion we saw today. This was just such a surprising and wonderful outcome, I would recommend anyone and everyone looking for pediatric dental care to drive however far they need to drive to get to this office.. particularly if you've had bad experiences in the past or a child with special circumstances.
